Northeast Tech's Business & Industry Services team travels all over the region to provide a variety of safety training and professional development. Here's what a normal day for them is like.

when people ask me what my job is it busy I kind of go I can't even tell you what a day looks like cuz I never know what it's going to be as a safety trainer coordinator we live by our Google Calendars but we checked we see where we're going to be at whether we're going to be doing training in a company with her going to in Consulting in a company go to that company and 22 there and then if we have time between trainings we come back to the office or we go to the Mexican some days we started sometimes it's 9 and sometimes we're done by 3 sometimes we're working till 9 I might have a class down here in Pryor and then after you have a class in in Miami or vice versa or am I spend all my time Miami so every day is different every every class is different for the most part my program that I can oversee is called the biz 3 C program and it's basically for small businesses that are either either getting started or they have been in business a while they can be a member of our program for a year at a time and they get my services which is free coaching and Consulting and mentoring sometimes the class we might run classes back to back to back throughout the morning where you throughout the day and sometimes it might just be a a block class like maybe forklift class where will do classroom portion and do some driving portion and and the classes may look like that bring some experience or bring some college and maybe I'm a little far is safety doesn't have to be boring it doesn't have to be doesn't have to be so dry so it wouldn't break it up a little bit serious I don't take myself serious you can see the walls going down on the students would I realize we're not there just another dry lecture but going to be interactive and my mama and the most important part is and safety and OSHA there's rules and there's raw there's laws regulations that are designed to keep people say my job is a safety trainer or consultant or coordinator whatever you want to say and by title is it is to get that message from the laws the black and white and put it to where everybody can understand and keep them safe or they go home safe to their family tonight one of my lines isn't always like to know if you come in with all these I want you to go home with all these and all that good stuff apartment with a buried backgrounds and experiences one of things I think we do is we can personalize it if we know what they've got it we know a little bit about what they're doing we can we can match our program to their needs it doesn't have to be just engineers hears one-size-fits-all my day can look very different then then what I was used to in the classroom so I get it huge perspective now what does does so we're not just safety training and and being out in the street. Kind of training but we also want to be good to our constituents and our communities as far as helping small business cuz they are huge it's part of our Workforce
