The Women in Business Quarterly Luncheon continues to grow in popularity among businesswomen in Mayes County, and the event is slated to take place again during the month of February.
“These luncheons are made possible by partnerships between the Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce, the MidAmerica Industrial Park and Northeast Technology Center,” said NTC’s Business Development Coordinator Liberty Shere, one of the event coordinators. “The response from the community has been fantastic, and we’re hopeful the audience will continue to grow in size with each event.”
The next luncheon is scheduled to take place in on Feb. 14 at St. Mark’s Catholic church in Pryor. Tickets can be purchased through the Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce, and the price includes the cost of lunch. Those guests attending the Pryor Women in Business Luncheon will hear from Dr. Saran Oliver, an invasive/noninvasive cardiology specialist with specific interests in adult echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and women’s cardiovascular health.
Dr. Oliver completed her cardiovascular fellowship at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX. She performed her internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Oliver attended Rice University in Houston where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Medicine.
“One of the goals with this event is to create an atmosphere where women can build their skillset and network with their peers,” Shere said. “We know it can be tough to get away from the office, so we try hard to find guest speakers who have interesting stories and can offer practical advice for the ladies who attend.”
