No longer known as the Women in Business Quarterly Luncheon, the popular event made possible by Northeast Technology Center and the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing a new name and new speaker to the guests at its next meeting.
“We decided to rename the event the Claremore Leading Ladies Luncheon, because we wanted to tie together the lunches, the Ladies Expo in the Fall, and the Leading Ladies awards,” said NTC’s Business Development Coordinator Liberty Shere, one of the event coordinators. “The response from the community has been fantastic, and even with a name change, we’re hopeful the audience will continue to grow.”
The next luncheon is scheduled to take place in on Feb. 7 at the NTC Claremore Campus. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased through the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce. The price includes the cost of lunch. Those guests attending the Claremore Leading Ladies Luncheon will hear from Kinda Wilson – an author, entrepreneur and instructor at Oklahoma State University.
Wilson is passionate about helping people reach their full potential, and she draws experience from the corporate and academic worlds. She is a business instructor at Oklahoma State University, and is the founder of two start-up companies. Her newest book, “The Echo Factor,” empowers readers to overcome fears and to speak their voices. When she’s not on the road speaking or causing epic travel mishaps overseas with her latest startup venture, you can find Wilson at the nearest coffee shop.
“One of the goals with this event is to create an atmosphere where women can build their skillset and network with their peers,” Shere said. “We know it can be tough to get away from the office, so we try hard to find guest speakers who have interesting stories and can offer practical advice for the ladies who attend.”
