Northeast Technology Center’s popular Women in Business Quarterly Luncheon debuts in Miami on Jan. 11 with special guest speaker Pam Hayes addressing the attendees. The event will be held at the Paul Thomas Family Center on Main Street in Miami.
The partnership between the Miami Chamber of Commerce and NTC has been beneficial for both organizations as well as the local economy, and the Women in Business Quarterly Luncheon is just one more opportunity to strengthen the Miami community.
"One of the goals with this event is to create an atmosphere where women can build their skillset and network with their fellow women business leaders," said NTC Business Development Coordinator Liberty Shere. "Add a great speaker to that mix, and the result is an event that has something for everyone."
The guest speaker on the agenda for the January luncheon is Pam Hayes, the Chief Executive Officer for U.S. Whip. A graduate of Miami High School and Oklahoma State University, Hayes moved back to her hometown after living in Atlanta for six years. While in Atlanta, Hayes worked as a billing coordinator for GTE Mobile, but with two small children, she and her husband – Brett – wanted to return to rural, small town living. Even though they both loved all that Atlanta had to offer, they knew family was most important.
Hayes is now the CEO of U.S. Whip and enjoys the challenge of owning the family business along with her husband. The couple also shares ownership of Tote Along with Kay – Pam’s sister – and her husband, Randy. In 2013, Tote Along was honored to be awarded the Oklahoma Governor’s Manufacturing Leadership Award by the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance. Hayes and her businesses are also members of the Grand Lake Manufacturing Council (GLMC) and the Family Owned Business Institute (FOBI) sponsored by Tulsa University.
The Miami Women in Business Quarterly Luncheon is scheduled to take place Jan. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Family Center located at 1527 N. Main Street in Miami. Tickets are $10 and include lunch. Those interested in purchasing a ticket may contact the Miami Chamber of Commerce at 918-542-4481.
